The participants need to know when to use the skills that they gain. For many, this is really hard. When is it ok to shield yourself?

Having being questioned this question many times as a leader of youth, he spotted there was a gap between which has a problem, and knowing when you defend ones self. He educates three keys parts; Words, Walk, and Whatever.

This individual emphasized the first two must be done before you defend by yourself. He repeatedly tells the youngsters that you can hurt someone, thus it must be a last resort. They showed them how to both escape and defend by yourself against others, in various ways. He also addressed the issue of the items to do in many situations. He answered scary questions in the frank, but child friendly manner. It does not seem to scare the children; he is very bluntly about his answers. This individual doesn't elaborate unless further questions are asked possibly he feels it need further explanation.

He said one more key part to this program has been aware, of your inner speech, your surroundings and facts. 16495 He taught the children to listen to warnings signs, and deals with common sense and reading circumstances and body language.

A very disclosing exercise he does within the course is; he has a male man or women come in while the class is occurring. He gives the children an activity, and 16350 this person will come in the space, and walk around the home a few times, not talking to anyone, then leave through the door.

Cruickshank then called them back to your floor, and ask them how many seen a man come in the area. Of a group of 15, solely six said they had seen someone; others look really surprised by the question. He then requested a description of the person. A group of twelve to fifteen the children came up with eight merchandise, including things such as, a man sporting a red shirt, truly old, kind of tall, eyeglasses, sneakers on, and had curly hair. The children seem very amazed they cannot give Cruickshank an exact explanation. It was a very clever in addition to enlightening exercise for the people in the room, indeed.

A handout for the kids and their parents is given out with safety games that can be used 16935 parent. These games he tells can be especially good any time driving in the car, as a spouse and children. The handout also lists many safety numbers for children to if they need help, including the Boys and girls Help Phone and site.
