YMCA sees huge enthusiasm with new location
STELLARTON The general office manager of Pictou County YMCA says the particular feedback he's received concerning its new location within the Pictou County Wellness Centre has become very positive and subscriptions have increased since the move.
"Memberships currently have definitely increased and they will continue doing so for a number of months, I'm sure," said general manager Lady MacIntyre. "It's very positive. It's very chaotic, but it's a good busy."
"All they have to do (to get the free trial) is walk in the door. People should be coming into see the capability anyway, because it's so astounding," he said. "They just need to proceed to the Y desk and they'll erect them on a free three day trial."
MacIntyre said the trial includes everything YMCA customers have access to, including all the sessions, the pool, spin classes, zumba instructional classes, and more.
Dot Thomason, who has already been a Pictou County YMCA client intended for 15 years, said she's experiencing the new location.
"It's excellent," she said after working from the treadmill. "It's very nice. Now i'm just getting used to it.Inches
Danielle Stewart, another YMCA client agreed.
"I adore it," she said following her workout.
MacIntyre said he is only heard positive typical reactions from clients at the completely new location.
"Everyone that has walked through the door has been absolutely surprised," he said. "They basically necessary said it's beautiful, it is really more than they thought it could be. The whole place is absolutely exceptional. It blows you at a distance when you walk in.In .
Lori Atta, who works at the YMCA, said she can't believe exactly how nice the new location is usually.
"I keep having to convince personally that I'm in Pictou County any time I'm in here,In she said while standing in the gym. "It's so nice.Inch

The actual Wellness Centre has its plus's but comes with many downfalls in addition, which we are expected to pay more per monthly regular membership for. The old YMCA was much larger and had a better area for women of all ages to lift weights. For a freshly developed building its as well cramped and should have been created better instead of meeting rooms taking up more then his or her cccc fare share of the real estate property. As for the rest of the wellness centre, I do not find it "impressive" there is nothing listed here that is not found everywhere else inside Pictou county. I never see the requirement of 2 rinks, are there 2 field hockey courts, no, and yes cccc i'm sure ones for practice yet there are numerous other rinks in the area which can be still open and refuse to close. Why not have One rink that is just resurfaced and preserved more often. That space may have been used for a racquetball court or rock climbing wall many of us were told the centre would have.
Straightforward locker rooms, there are no change rooms, 1 bathroom stall for any mens side and 2 booths for the womens, which are continually being used for people to change with. There were countless toilet stalls and change stalls in the previous YMCA. They also expect you to take off your footware previous to entering the change rooms, which are usually wet due to these people cleaning, so they expect customers to take off their shoes, move to the locker room, get their legs wet, then change in addition to go work out in rainy socks? Unacceptable. I also like how they are pouring concrete floor in the back for the kids car park in the freezing weather, this will likely shift and need more money it to be repaired in the near future. In short, whichever company planned and designed the particular wellness centre should be dismissed.

The braintrust powering this complex were evidently all about "the hockey" which is nothing new. We now have more indoor rinks per household than any other community around Eastern Canada. The design of the pool is a joke, no hard drive, little deck area, insufficient washroom facilites and nowhere with regard to spectators. This was an opportunity to have a facility that could have encased numerous activities including raquetball/squash process of law, climbing facilites, open facilities for the many martial arts clubs which can be homeless or soon to be.
Did anyone consider that a large degree gymnasium with SEATING could have attracted sporting events from throughout the Province and Country? My family went to the particular "new" YMCA last evening. The fitness centre was beautiful along with Lori was great explaining all of the new machines and how to function them. My son traveled to swimming lessons and although the pool area is bright and greater, I was disappointed to see generally there really isn't much chairs so the parents can watch their kids swim. There were lots of dad and mom standing and sitting on the floor as all the seating had been full.
I was also very upset in the family change room. There are other lockers, but much smaller and with family members of 4 and 2 children swimming, 1 locker does not hold the whole coats/footwear, therefore we have to take up A pair of lockers. There may be more cubicles to alter in, but they are smaller than the actual location and only have a couch in them. The bench chairs was much easier as you may lay out their dry apparel on one end of the counter to help them get changed, there happens to be nothing to set the clothes on. The new facility is beautiful, however feel the seating/locker rooms could have been created a bit better.

First, while driving using cccc a building on the other side of a parking lot, you are unlikely able to see into your pool. Second, if you have ever obtained your children to a public beachfront, anyone who wants to can watch all of them there, the same as if they are in the pool. There is merit towards claim that people inside the building can see your children, but most probably responsible and aware mother and father will be monitoring their children along with who is paying attention to them, not really leaving the responsibility of watching their kids to wellness centre personnel. I suggest that you try not to make it possible for self consciousness prevent you from visiting aquacize don't let what you imagine guests to be doing to prevent you from carrying out something you want to do.
I would like to point out a huge Thank You to all involved with giving us "Pictou County" such a fantastic facility, as a Y participant I am blown away with the appeal of this building and all that is available. I hope you know how much your hard work is appreciated, because reading some of these comments, I hope you "don't sweat the small stuff" as we know smaller are the mids of the negative. Words do not describe the excitement associated with my children as they splashed from the pool cccc and played in the play care.
